Imbi's World of Christmas ... a new morning

A day enters
in a wond'rous light.
A miracle hidden
in what seems to be
an age-old way of living.

The cows in the fields
eagerly waiting
for the farmer to come,
to give the warm milk
to the elder and children.

To a little baby perhaps,
hidden nearby
in an old stable,
sheltered from the cold
by some handfulls of straw
and the warm breath
of another cow
and a donkey.

Or is it already warmed
by the wool
of the sheep?
Those people out in the fields
share the little possessions they have
with such ease
that kings and learned alike
might be ashamed.

One might expect
screams from joy
jumping from cloud to cloud
announcing the birth
of such a special child,

but the silence
hides it all
only the leaves whisper
words of wisdom
about the miracles to come.

The farmer blows out the candle
and opens the door.
The dog jumps from joy:
he is free to enter the world.

A large bird
awakes the world,
awakes them all,
another day is born.
